You may already know "Need for Speed" the video game and now it's time to get familiar with Need for Speed the movie. But is it more than just a showcase for cool cars? Check out KidsPickFlicks' Movie Star Movie Crix Joel Courtney (Super 8) and Katherine McNamara (Contest) review:

"Need for Speed zooms into theaters this weekend and is sure to be a big hit. This film follows the story of Tobey Marshall, played quite impressively by Aaron Paul, an amateur racer with potential and drive (pardon the pun) to make it to the proverbial big leagues. When disaster strikes, he must rebuild his life from the ground up in order to clear his name and drive his dream race - the prestigious De Leon. The cinematography in the film was beautifully scenic showing scene after scene of beautiful expansive highway and his unlikely sidekick, Julia, played by Imogene Poots, speed across the country to make the starting flag. The cast of the film was a great ensemble with a particularly noticeable performance by Harrison Gilbertson as Little Pete. This film keeps you on the edge of your seat with action, adventure, and a fleet of amazing .cars to accelerate this film to the top of the box office charts. 3 stars."
