UPDATE: The sequel to the The Muppets will be titled The Muppets...Again! This time, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzy and the crew go on an international tour with their show, but get caught up in an old-school crime caper while in London. Masterminding the dastardly deeds is Constantine, the World's No. 1 Criminal who just happens to look like Kermit, and his henchman Dominic (Ricky Gervais). "This movie takes us to places we've never been before. And trust me - this frog has never seen so much international flavor," says leading amphibian Kermit the Frog. "I think audiences will eat it up - the entertainment, that is."
"Modern Family" dad Ty Burrell will play Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon and Tina Fey is Nadya, a prison guard. The film hits theaters next year during spring break: March 21, 2014.
Jan. 23, 2013 - Tina Fey ("30 Rock"), Ty Burrell ("Modern Family"), Ricky Gervais (The Invention of Lying) and Ray Liotta (Wild Hogs, Principal Luger in "Hannah Montana") are joining the human cast of The Muppets sequel. Liotta, who has been a big star for several decades, was in 1999's Muppets in Space playing a gate guard. Muppets movies and known for having a lot of big stars in tiny cameos.
Nov. 1, 2012 - Christoph Waltz has quickly become Hollywood's go-to bad guy, playing a drug lord in The Green Hornet, the cruel circus owner in Water for Elephants, and the scheming Cardinal Richelieu in The Three Musketeers. He'll now take those shady skills to play an Interpol agent in the sequel to The Muppets. James Bobin will return to direct and co-write the script with Nicholas Stoller. Jason Segal and Amy Adams have not signed on for the sequel, at least not yet.
