Melanie Amaro Interview

‘The X Factor’ was a huge hit for it’s first season.  With fierce competition, it was anyone’s game.  In the end, 19-year-old Melanie Amaro came out on top.  Now she has an album coming out, and she’s working with the producers on the second season of ‘The X Factor’.  We got to interview the singing sensation about her upcoming album and duties on the show’s next season!
Fanlala: We read your debut album is going to sound different than anything we’re used to hearing you perform.  Can you tell us what the album’s feel will be?
Melanie Amaro: It’s going to be a mix of different things.  My fans will be hearing a lot of what they’re familiar with, as well as a lot of different sounds that people didn’t get to hear on the show.  I definitely think people are going to enjoy it, and I’m working to make it my best!
F: Do you have any surprises we can expect from your album?  Collaborations?  A deluxe edition?

MA: Right now I’m keeping that a secret.  I don’t want to tell and give it away, so we’re keeping that on the DL.  I just want people to listen to the album and think “Oh my gosh, it’s this person or that person!”

F: When can we expect your first single to drop?  Do you have a name for it, yet?

MA: There’s no exact date, yet.  It should be out soon.  I’m working in the studio right now on everything, and we’re working hard to get it done.  I’m very excited about it.

F: You’ll be playing a role in season 2 of The X Factor, can you tell us what you’ll be doing in the audition stage of the show?

MA: Right now I’m encouraging people to come out.  There’s so much talent out there, people need to come out and show it off.  Right now, people are hiding, people don’t want to show off what they can do.  My job is to get people to show off their talent, it’s to bring people out and tell people they can do it.  I know they can.  It’s all about swallowing up that fear and getting the courage to make it.

F: Before you appeared on The X Factor, what kind of events did you perform for?  Any memorable experiences?

MA: I remember once I was singing at a wedding, and during the wedding I started crying in the middle of the song.  I stopped to take a breath.  It was so beautiful, I will never forget that moment.

F: Your fans loved your surprise appearance in the Superbowl ad with Elton John and Flava Flav.  Do you have anything else coming up in the future? Tour dates perhaps?

MA: We’re always thinking about a tour.  I’ll definitely keep my fans posted with any upcoming information about tour dates I’ll have set!

We know you’ve worked hard to get where you are today, Melanie.  Can’t wait to see your face on the second season of ‘The X Factor’, and we def can’t wait for more of your music!  Think you have what it takes?  Want to audition for season 2?  You can register now at 'The X Factor's' official site!  Good luck to all entrants!
