Dax Shephard, Kristen Bell and Bradley Cooper Set a Date

UPDATE: Dax Shepard's Outrun will open Aug. 24, 2012. Shepard wrote, directed and stars in the film along with real life fiance Kristen Bell and buddy Bradley Cooper.

Nov. 21, 2011 -- Outrun, the indie action comedy written, directed and starring "Parenthood" star Dax Shepard (although we've loved him ever since Zathura) will be hitting theaters now that Open Road Films acquired rights to distribute the film. The story is about a former getaway driver now in the Witness Protection Program who drives his girlfriend (Shepard's real life fiance Kristen Bell from When in Rome) to Los Angeles. Once on the road, they are pursued by federal agents (led by comedian Tom Arnold) and his former gang (led by Bradley Cooper from The A-Team). The cast is filled out with Shepard and Bell's former costars like Kristen Chenoweth (who worked with Bell in You Again), Joy Bryant (who co-stars with Shepard in "Parenthood"), David Koechner (who worked with Shepard on the animated series "Good Vibes"),  Beau Bridges (who worked with Arnold on "Franklin & Bash"), and Ryan Hansen (who worked with Bell on "Veronica Mars"). Michael Rosenbaum ("Smallville") also stars.
