At the 2008 Summer Olympics, Usain Bolt set new world records in both the 100m and 200m races. In London, Bolt hopes to replicate these astounding performances and win the gold in both of these events.
Usain Bolt captured the gold medal Sunday night and did so in record-breaking fashion. He finished in 9.63 seconds improving upon last year's gold medal time by .06 seconds! This feat makes Bolt the first runner since Carl Lewis to defend his Olympic sprinting title in back to back Olympics. This solidifies Bolt as the fastest man alive and has even given rise to talks of Bolt being the fastest man ever.
Bolt will look to continue his winning ways in the 200m finals on Thursday night and prove his dominance in the sport. If Bolt is able to win the gold medal he will become not only the first person to win both the 100m and the 200m, but also the first person to win both races in back to back Olympics.
