Technology sure has changed the way we view our world over the years. Before, pictures had to be sent via mail, and now they can be sent instantly. So what’s the next big step for photography?
Introducing SeeMail - this revolutionary app doesn’t just allow you to share what you can see with your friends, but now you can let them hear what you’ve been up to! Using AudioTag technology, you can capture voices and sounds and send them along with a pic to bring everyone into the experience.
SeeMail is picking up a lot of steam, and even some celebs are loving the app! Noel Fisher from the upcoming 'Twilight' movie ‘Breaking Dawn: Part 2’ is just one of the many stars who use SeeMail. We got to chat with Kent Speakman, the man behind the app to see what really makes it tick. See what he had to say!
Fanlala: Describe the app to us in three words.
Kent Speakman: Photos with Sound
F: Give us an example of what this app can do that other apps aren't able.
KS: There are a few really cool things that SeeMail does that other apps don't do... SeeMail adds something special to your photos - your voice, music or the sounds around you!
You can take a new photo, or select from your Facebook albums or phone library of saved pictures, instagrams, etc. You can record a SeeMail AudioT.ag - just tap the record button and record your voice or anything going on around you. Caption to your photo with text - this posts to Twitter and Facebook too! Postmark your current location if you want people to know where you created the SeeMail, or keep it secret. Share private SeeMails with your SeeMail friends - great for boyfriends/girlfriends or shopping decisions! Share your SeeMail publicly to Facebook and Twitter for everyone to see and hear Play and share SeeMail on the web with your personal SeeMail page
F: How has the app come in use to you when sending pics to friends or family?
KS: SeeMail has been a great app for me both sending to my family and friends. There is a group of us on SeeMail who privately share our "Fun" SeeMails to compete on who is having a better time! We share fun moments on vacation, at red carpet events, concerts and parties with each other privately. My friends in relationships really like to be able to send a love note with a photo and message in their own voice. It is also great to send to Facebook & Twitter for the moments you want to share with everyone like music at a concert, or a celebrity you have a picture with that gives you an audio-graph (a voice note specific to your photo on your SeeMail) with everyone on Twitter and Facebook!
F: What inspired the idea of SeeMail?
KS: At SeeMail, we believe that behind every photo is a great story - and that you should be able to tell that story in your own words.
In ancient times (before 2000) photos were taken and then printed, and kept in an album or a box. It was common practice to jot down a date or short note on the back of the photo. "Venice Beach, California 1995". That note became a part of the photo and added more about it for the person looking at it. When you shared that photo with someone you shared the story too. Ward Chandler had the cool idea for SeeMail when looking at pictures from his dad, and now we are working with Movie Stars, Musicians, Bands and even some of the people we love at Fanlala to give their fans a chance to hear the stories from their favorite celebrities photos!
F: Are there any functions that SeeMail doesn't have now that we might see in the future?
KS: We have a whole bunch of really really exciting things coming in the near future for SeeMail! We actually have a function in the app that lets our users tell us what they want to see and we listen - so we have a lot of great things that people have asked for coming very soon!
We just started giving people "Certified Accounts" - the way to know that the SeeMails you are seeing are coming from real Celebrities. We have new celebrities coming on every day, and its neat to see that when Fans create a SeeMail and tweet it to them they usually are getting more responses than a regular tweet. For example, if you add @JustinBieber into the text box and tweet your SeeMail, maybe he will see your photo and hear your voice note to him!
I will give you a hint of something else exciting too - if you like our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/SeeMailApp and find a recentSeeMail posted by Noel Fisher with Tom Berenger holding an Emmy, you will see something that is in Beta right now :) The first person who comments on it and figures out how it is different we will send a cool SeeMail hat!
It sounds like an awesome app, and if it’s supported by a star from one of our favorite movies, it HAS to be good! Try sending your friends and family some pictures with a twist, and let us know what you think about SeeMail!
