TheSpeedGamers Catch Pokemon for Charity and Pokemon Conquest Released

Over a decade ago, Nintendo unleashed onto America Pokemon: one of the most unstoppable crazes that would sweep the nation.  And it’s made huge steps since then.

Pokemon has exploded from an original 151 monsters to a jaw-dropping 649.  To celebrate, a group of dedicated Pokemon trainers who call themselves TheSpeedGamers are making it their mission to capture every single one.  That’s right, you can head on over to their website right now where they’ve been playing since June 15, and will end Friday, June 22.  During this time they’ve been streaming their adventures and collecting donations to raise money for ACT Today! to promote Austism Care and Awareness.

This amazing marathon also happened to fall on the same weekend that the release of another fantastic Pokemon title ‘Pokemon Conquest’ dropped from Nintendo.  In the game, you and your trusty Eevee must face several Pokemon and unite a divided nation.  Using a turn-based strategy system of gameplay, ‘Conquest’ will have a similar feel to the Pokemon games you have grown to love over the years.

2012 is a great year to be a Pokemon trainer.  With several new titles still on the way this year, you’ll want to make sure your DS is fully charged, and you have a few Pokeballs at the ready!
