The New Orleans Saints football team ended last season on a high note, and now they’re looking for Taylor Swift to help them start off next season with a bang!
Not only will Taylor be revving up the reigning champs with a pre-game show, but her performance will be the official kick-off for the 2011 NFL season! Taylor will perform alongside the legendary “Dave Matthews Band,” and following the performances, the Saints will take on the Minnesota Vikings in what is sure to be an exciting game! NBC will be broadcasting the live event so that fans everywhere will have a chance to catch the historic performances and the season opener! If you can’t tune in live, make sure those DVRs and Tivos are set for September 9 at 7:30 PM (ET)!
While you’re anxiously awaiting Taylor’s Jackson Square NFL kick-off show, you can continue singing along to her newly released single, “Mine!” The song, which made headlines after being illegally leaked before it’s official planned release, just became this week’s number one song on iTunes!
Taylor was so grateful for her fans’ support and excitement over the new single that she released a new iPhone app called “Mix Me In2” which lets fans mix, mash, and remix her songs! Fans can even replace Taylor’s vocals with their own voice and upload their finished mash-ups to a special website!
In addition to her number one single, Taylor also has two Teen Choice Awards to celebrate! If you caught the 2010 awards show last Sunday (August 8), then you were probably cracking up as Taylor shot a video of her acceptance speech while trying to surf on one of her TCA trophies! We’re glad to see all the hard work paying off, Tay!
