Stage Set for Euro Cup 2012 Finals

After almost a month of international soccer in the Euro Cup the final two teams have been decided. Spain will take on Italy in the championship game this Sunday July 1st in Kiev.

All other teams have been eliminated leaving only Italy and Spain left to battle for a Euro Cup Championship. Italy beat the favorite German team 2-1 in the semifinals while Spain rolled to the finals after defeating Portugal in a penalty kick shootout. If Spain wins the championship game on Sunday they will be the first team ever to win three major tournaments in a row. These two teams met in the group stage but the game ended up as a tie.

If Spain wins it will be the first time ever a team has won the European Championship in back to back tournaments. While their isn’t much of a favorite to win the game, we do hope the final is settled before the game of chance that is penalties.
