Wizards of Waverly Place cutie Selena Gomez will grace the September 2009 cover of Seventeen magazine! Selena had a gorgeous photo shoot with the mag and flaunted a variety of styles and haircuts. Some shots show Selena with long flowing hair while others show off her new cute, cropped cut with bangs. She also changed up her wardrobe, too, looking lovely in some fun, flowery outfits and rocking an edgier look with pieces like a leather vest, shiny leggings and super-high-heeled boots!
She dished to Seventeen about her love of comedy and how that was what really made her want to be an actress. She guest-starred on an episode of the Sprouse Twins' show The Suite Life and got a laugh out of the audience which had her hooked! Selena has great comedic timing and she will definitely be bringing us more laughs in the Wizards of Waverly Place Movie!!
Fame is not what's important to the very grounded star and she wishes people wouldn't focus so much on just being famous or try to be famous. You can really tell Selena loves what she does, and that fame has just been a result of all her talent and hard work. Being in the spotlight does have it's downside and Selena is affected by the negative things people say. But she has her friends to give her pep talks and we love her no matter what!
She also mentioned a few of her all-time favorite things:
Shia LaBeouf! The starlet talked about how much she likes the once-Disney star (Shia was the lead in the popular show "Even Stevens") and about how she looks up to him and how he has transitioned his career while keeping a positive relationship with the Disney Channel.
Energetic music like country, hip-hop and pop. She loves musicians like the Black-Eyed Peas, All Time Low and of course her besties Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato! She talked about Demi's amazing talent and versatility, "Demi has a very strong voice...she writes music, she plays guitar and piano."
Movies that take place in the 1950's like "The Notebook." She loves how they take you to another place and time.
Her co-star and Fanlala fave David Henrie who Selena describes as "the sweetest, most sensitive guy I have ever met".
