Did we hear that right? One Direction beat out Justin Bieber and Rihanna at MTV Awards? That’s right! Our favorite Boy band took home Best Pop Music Video, Best New Artist Award, and The Most-Shareworthy Video Award taking home a total of three awards with just debuting six months ago.
Their amazing voice blew everyone away with their on stage performance where they received the loudest scream and approval of the night when they performed their hit song “One Thing.” They stole the hearts of everyone in the audience including Katy Perry, Rihanna and the US Olympic gymnastics women team. Their performance at the VMA is a dream come true for them as well as it is for us. Like the audience dancing along with them, we were also dancing with them in front of the TV.
Apart from One Direction’s superb performance, there were many other artist that took the stage and blew us away as well. Nicki Minaj and Rihanna sang in a duet together with the help of Olympic Gold medalist Gabby Douglas tumbling during their performance making the performance breathtaking! I'm so happy for them. I creid tears of joy and jumped up and down and screamed a little when they won. I was so happy that they won that I hardly heard their acceptance speech.
