A Look Back at 2011: Music

Could there have been a better year for music than 2011?  We can’t think of one.  With so many albums released and tours taken, let’s take a look back on what we were rocking out to this year!
 
Who remembers summer starting out in June with Selena Gomez dropping her latest album When the Sun Goes Down?  The album had it all - uplifting beats to remind us of those lazy days with friends, as well as songs to help us through those times when we’re travelling a rocky road of emotions.  It really was the perfect summer album.
 
Of course, who could forget J Biebs’ most recent album Under the Mistletoe?  The holidays are over for now, but that doesn’t mean we won’t forget the warm feeling we got every time we were serenaded by JB’s cool Christmas classics.  And we for sure can’t wait to get that album spinnin’ again for Christmas 2012!
 
Solo artists weren’t the only stars of the year, either.  Big Time Rush, already huge, just got a taste of what’s in store for them.  As if we need to remind you about last November’s Elevate, they were also nominated for several prestigious awards (they won several Kids’ Choice Awards!) and they got to announce their Better With U Tour, starting next year.  If they think 2011 was great, we can’t wait to see what 2012 has in store!

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.  Who else can forget highlights like Scotty McReery becoming American Idol’s tenth season?  Javier Colon took the honor of becoming the very first winner of NBC’s The Voice!  We know there were a lot more milestones in music this year, give us a shout out and let us know about the ones we missed, and what was playing on your iPods this year!
