Jordin Sparks to Star in Remake of "Sparkle"

Jordin Sparks will certainly "sparkle" in her new project!

The megastar is joining the cast of "Sparkle" along with legendary singer,  Whitney Houston.

The movie is a remake of the 1976 original music-themed pic which followed three sisters who begin singing in their church choir in Harlem in the late 1950's.  They, then, go on to become a successful girl group.

Jordin plays "Sparkle," a music prodigy who struggles to become a star while overcoming issues that are tearing her family apart.

We know Jordin will shine in this new role!
