Join DoSomething in Thumb Wars Against Texting and Driving

DoSomething Sprint Glee Harry Shum Jr Thumb Wars

If you or someone you know drives, then you hopefully already know about the dangers of texting while driving.

DoSomething.org and Sprint are teaming up to stop texting behind the wheel.  According to DoSomething, texting at 55 MPH will leave your eyes off the road for the length of a football field, possible more!  You wouldn’t want to drive with someone who has their eyes closed for that long, would you?  It’s essentially the same thing!

With the Thumb Wars campaign, you can join DoSomething and Sprint in preventing texting and driving.  On DoSomething.org, you can sign up to receive your own pair of thumb socks that make it very difficult to text, and ensure that the driver’s eyes are on the road instead of their phone’s screen.  Check out the video below, featuring Glee’s Harry Shum Jr. for more details on the promotion.

If you sent DoSomething pics with you wearing the thumb socks, or share the form with others, you even have a chance at winning a $10,000 scholarship.!

We think this is a great promotion that will totally help save lives and raise awareness on the dangers of driving with a phone in hand.  Make the word known today, and help out by asking for a FREE pair of thumb socks!
