Gear Up for the 2012 CMT Awards!

It’s been a huge year for country music, and at this year’s CMT Awards, the ladies of country are getting some big recognition! 

‘American Idol’ star Carrie Underwood is a force to be reckoned with.  Last year she tore up the country music scene, and it shows with the five nominations she received.  Taylor Swift is also being recognized for her song “Safe and Sound” that she performed with The Civil Wars for ‘The Hunger Games’ soundtrack.  The video for her song “Ours” has also been nominated for Best Female Video of the year!

Of course, the guys aren’t without their noms, either.  Most notably, Scotty McCreery has been nominated for USA Weekend’s Breakthrough Video of the Year with “The Trouble With Girls.”  Our fingers are crossed for the ‘American Idol’ star!  You can catch the 2012 CMT Awards Wednesday, June 6 on CMT and CMT.com.  Want to see the list of nominees?  Head on over to CMT’s website, and vote for your favorites!
