Friday night marked the beginning of the London 2012 Olympic Games with the amazing spectacle of the Opening Ceremonies! During the athlete parade, competitors toured the arena, waving their flags and sporting outfits representative of their home countries.
Because many countries wore the colors of their flags, some very bright and slightly mismatched outfits ensued. Spain wore yellow blazers with orange satin skirts, while Jamaica sported neon colors and attempted to rock yellow and green. While some had trouble pulling off their countries’ colors, The Netherlands sported royal blue and orange outfits that looked pulled together and elegant.
Some countries wore some very interesting clothes without even wearing their own colors! Germany wore bright pink and blue jackets while Mexico donned colorful ponchos. Fiji even had a man in a hula skirt! Great Britain sported a bold look by wearing white sweatshirts with very shiny gold details, which were not the best choice for the host country.
The United States wore their patriotic Ralph Lauren outfits, making berets look cool and setting a trend among the other Olympic participants. They looked patriotic and represented America well.
The very best dressed of the ceremonies paired colorful garb with neutrals, like Australia who wore green blazers with white bottoms, Brazil who wore yellow or green mini skirts with chic blazers, and Canada who wore red sweatshirts with khaki pants.
Who do you think was best dressed at the ceremony?
