We love Madison Pettis. From scoring big with us in ‘The Game Plan’ to hearing her voice in one of her many productions with Disney, we can’t get enough of her work.
In just a few weeks, you’ll be able to catch a very special airing of ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Jake Saves Bucky,’ as well as ‘Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3: Viva La Fiesta’ on DVD and, both featuring Madison! We got to chat with the star about her experiences in voice acting as well as what she’s currently up to! What did she have to say?
Fanlala: You’ve given your voice to characters in the ‘Beverly Hills Chihuahua’ series and ‘Jake and the Neverland Pirates.’ What makes voice acting so different from acting live on a set?
Madison Pettis: It’s so much different than live acting on a set because you have to put all emotions into your voice. No one can see your face or body language, so everything is needed through the inflection in your voice.
F: There’s a very special episode of ‘Jake and the Neverland Pirates’ coming up called 'Jake Saves Bucky.' Can you tell us about it, and the very special day that it takes place on?
MP: Jakes saves Bucky is a super cute special. In it, it’s our crew vs. Captain Hook’s crew, and if Hook wins he gets control of the ship. And we love bucky, so we don’t want that. Our crew gets stumped and we don’t know what to do, so we turn to the wonderful Peter Pan.
The special airs on September 19, which is International Talk Like a Pirate Day, and I love it. It’s super fun, and we just invite the fans to come and talk like a pirate with us!
F: ‘Beverly Hills Chihuahua’ fans are also in for a treat next month, and we understand the family is even bigger. Can you tell us what to expect this time around?
MP: The DVD comes out the day before, September 18, so it’s a very busy week for me. I’m playing Lala again, and I get to use the same voice. It’s super cute. This time, there’s a new addition, with the littlest puppy Rosa. She’s feeling very tiny, and Papi has to help her find her strengths and help her realize that it’s not all about her size!
F: You have a long history and great relationship with Disney. What’s your favorite memory, and maybe your favorite role with the company?
MP: I love working with Disney, I’ve done so many things with them. It’s my home. My favorite memory is either when I booked ‘Cory in the House’ or ‘The Game Plan.’ I used to watch Disney Channel, Disney Movies, Disney Junior (I still do!) and they’re just what I grew up with, and being a part of it all has been an unbelievable experience!
Fanlala: School’s back in session, and you’ve just started high school! What classes are you taking this fall?
MP: Taking all the typical classes - algebra, biology. My elective right now is journalism. I love to write, and that’s my favorite class that I’m taking this year.
Madison wants you to tune into ‘Jake Saves Bucky.’ “It’s super cute, and I’m so excited, and we want you to tune in and talk like a pirate with us all day!”
