Jake T. Austin is known to a lot of his fans as Max Russo from Disney Channel’s ‘Wizards of Waverly Place.’ Now that this year’s Emmy Awards nominations have been announced, we’re pleased to hear that ‘Wizards’ has been nominated for the fourth year in a row!
We got to chat with the young star about his time on ‘Wizards’ and what it was like working on the fantastic Disney Channel program. We also got to chat about some of his future projects as well!
Fanlala: How does it feel to have ‘Wizards’ nominated for an Emmy for its final season?
Jake T Austin: It's an honor to be nominated for the show and I'm grateful for the opportunity.
F: Wizards’ has been nominated for the Emmy Awards for the past four years, did you ever get to attend previous ceremonies? If so, what was the most memorable experience you took away from the Awards show?
JTA: I did attend the ceremonies. Fortunately, we won in 2009, and just being there was something I'll remember forever. David Deluise dislocated his shoulder when he tumbled on the stage after our show was announced.
F: Do you still keep in touch with anyone from ‘Wizards of Waverly Place?’
JTA: We all try to stay connected. At the same time, we're all happy for each other that we are busy working and focusing on our careers.
F: Can you give us an update on ‘Huckleberry Finn?’
JTA: Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn is slated for a 2013 release. I've recently been doing ADR (automated dialogue replacement) and Post-Production for the film.
F: You’ve had guest roles on several shows this year, and your fans would love to see more of you. Any projects that you’re working on that you can tell us about?
JTA: I've been lucky enough to guest star on Law & Order: SVU, Drop Dead Diva, and some other projects. I'm starting a movie August and just staying busy! God Bless!
It’s always great catching up with some of our favorite stars, and we just want to congratulate Jake on his Emmy nominations, again. Awesome work, and good luck in the future!
