EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Camplified Artist Karlee Roberts

Fans of Karlee Roberts know her from at least one of her many trades.  Whether it's her acting, singing, or another one of her careers, it's no doubt that Karlee has talent.

Karlee gave us a look into her professional life, and what it's been like performing for Camplified.  She was super-excited to chat with us, and we were pumped to chat with her.  Find out more about this artist in her exclusive Fanlala interview!

Fanlala: Have you ever been to camp before? What was it like?

Karlee Roberts: I've never been to camp before! So I'm having the BEST time traveling to all of the summer camps with Camplified. Not only do I get to do what I love by performing at these camps and sharing my music but I also get to meet all the awesome campers and counselors.  I've gotten to do so many fun camp activities like arts and crafts, playing frisbee, and swimming.  I always wondered what it was like to go to camp and my fans were awesome, showing me all around.  I posted pictures on my Facebook and Twitter!

F: If you could only bring three things to camp, what would they be?

K: My bathing suit, my microphone and my DJ - Mikey Salerno.  We'd have an awesome time rocking out with campers!

F: Do you know how to make a campfire?

K: Nope but I can roast a sick marshmallow ;)

F: What would you rather cook on the campfire, s'mores or hot dogs?  

K: S'mores all the way!  I can taste them already.  Oh, the delicious gooey roasted marshmallows mixed in with a chocolately graham cracker. Yummy!  I can't help myself when it comes to sweets.

F: Who are you excited to see perform at Camplified and what inspired you to do the tour?

K: There are so many incredible artists on the tour this year, I'm so excited to see them all!  

Trevor Jackson was so sweet and I loved performing with him.  Payton Rae is passionate about the fight against bullying, like me.  Brandon & Savannah have awesome stage-presence. 3union are talented and cute… I could keep going.  

It was awesome to see Kristina Lachaga too because we were friends before the tour so it was nice to reunite with our music! (We're planning a duet for one of the concerts coming up soon.)

And I'm excited to see my sister because well… I helped her with her set-list.  She's the one who inspired me to do the tour.

F: If you weren’t going on the Camplified tour, what would you be doing this Summer?

K: Hmmm, hitting the recording studio, spending lots of time making more music, arranging lots of new covers, and making some new music videos and probably holding more contests and stuff for my fans… oh, and probably begging my mom to go to camp!

I'm glad to be on tour though.  I'm learning so much and meeting so many cool people.  I'm super grateful for Aimee and everyone on the Camplified team.

F: Who is your favorite singer and why?

K: Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, and Demi Lovato. I love artists that are so incredibly talented and still manage to send positive messages with their music.  During this tour, I perform a rendition of Lady Gaga's "Hair".  The song is about social acceptance and being as free as your hair.  It has a similar message to my very first original song "Call Me Whatever" that I released last year to spread anti-bullying awareness. F: Which do you like better; modeling, acting or singing?

K: This is a hard question.  They are all amazing in their own way.  Each has led to so many opportunities and I'm grateful for each one.  I really can't choose just one and I hope I never have to.

F: Are you excited to go on tour with your older sister Marlee?

K: Of course! I love my sister so much. She's my inspiration. She supports me in everything I do.  She's my best friend and we love making music together.

I just finished recording a new song, "Oh, I Know" in which she is featured and we can't wait to perform this new song together during my next performance.

F: You do a great cover of a One Direction song on youtube, who is your favorite member of 1D and why?

K: Aww, thank you!  My live performance of "What Makes You Beautiful!" at Camplified always gets the crowd going.  Now, who's my favorite? Hmnn, whoever I can get a date with ;) LOL
