Rocking the Camplified tour for several weeks now is the east coast band The All Ways. The All Ways consists of lead vocalist, Austin Massirman, guitarist, Ron Geffen, bassist, Pat Heraghty and drummer Andre Jevnik. The band formed as a project between Austin Massirman and Ron Geffen.
We got to ask The All Ways a few questions about performing at Camplified, and how they got their start. Check out what they had to say!
Fanlala: Have you ever been to camp before? What was it like?
The All Ways: I (Austin) have, yes, for me it was cool to get away from the parents for a few weeks, but looking back I was definitely more of a music and video games kind of kid, so all the sports and stuff didn't appeal to me, but I think camp is a great experience for most kids, you make a lot of good friends!
F: If you could only bring three things to camp, what would they be?
AW: a guitar, an Xbox, and my laptop haha
F: Do you know how to make a campfire?
AW: I think Ron does, I know we have done some bonfires in his backyard while singing Kumbaya and roasting marshmallows
F: What would you rather cook on the campfire, smores or hot dogs?
AW: It depends what kind of mood were in, sweet or meat! But both are great choices.
F: Who are you excited to see perform at Camplified and what inspired you to do the tour?
AW: All of the artists on Camplified are amazing so we have had a great time watching all the people we played with, what inspired us to do the tour is simply the fact that we want to be kids first REAL CONCERT. A lot of the campers have never gotten to see a rock show before, and we are happy to be their first one!
F: How did the band come together?
AW: We all are from Rockland County, NY. We have all been in local bands over the years through high school and college, eventually we came together with a mutual idea of forming this pop/rock band that would blend modern radio pop with some good rock n roll.
F: Who came up with the name “The All Ways”?
AW: Ron came up with the name, it was just something he had scribbled in his notebook one day when thinking of potential bands names for the future. He said it to me (Austin) and i was just like "THATS IT!"
F: What was the recording process like for your new EP “Chemical Overload”?
AW: It was awesome! We recorded the whole EP in the comfort of our home studio in Ron’s backyard. The whole thing is self written, produced, engineered and thats something you don’t see much of nowadays. We had a great time doing it.
F: Which band do you guys look up to and why?
AW: We look up to Maroon 5, Motley Crue, The Beatles, OneRepublic, and even though she isnt a band Lady Gaga. All of these artists have managed to find a very unique sound and becoming huge stars based on that, that is something we plan to do as well and we always look back to our heroes for inspiration.
F: What are your plans for the rest of 2012?
AW: The rest of 2012 we will be writing new music, playing more gigs, and working harder than ever! We have big dreams and nothing in the world can stop us! We love all the fans that support us, and encourage new bands to get out there and make some noise! <3 AW
