I'm Dylan Richards and this week we're talking about Green Tea. First discovered in Japan by Emperor Shen Nung over 5 thousand years ago, Green Tea has become a popular craze throughout the world. Iced or hot, this drink is a treat to the health of our bodies.
What is in Green Tea that makes it as beneficial as it is?
One ingredient found in Green Tea is an antioxidant known as epigallocatechin gallate, also known as EGCG. EGCG is super beneficial to our entire bodies, especially our blood cells just like other antioxidant.
I even found out that EGCG may inhibit the growth of cancer cells, prevent heart disease and cardiac arrest, prevent blood clots, and lower cholesterol levels.
According to the 1999 study reported by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, green tea can speed up the body's metabolism. So, the more green tea we include into our diets, the easier it is to keep our metabolic systems running smoothly, properly, and at a quicker pace. This makes it easier to get into shape.
Other popular herbal tea’s include:
Lavender Tea
Ashwagandha Tea
California Poppy Tea
Chamomile Tea
Valerian Root Tea
Lemon Balm Tea
Kava Tea
Passion Flower Tea
Mint Tea
and lots more
