Hungry and back for more? That’s ok, Dylan’s Lunchbox is always stocked, and this week we’re exploring that not all foods are what they seem!
You may have heard that the tomato is a fruit, or that corn doesn’t have seeds because that’s what you’re eating. Well get ready to have your world turned upside down by the delicious avocado!
Even though the avocado tastes like a vegetable, it is most definitely a fruit. Mashed up along with fresh organic tomatoes, onions, and lemon- chips with awesome guacamole make the best nacho dish.
The avocado is a natural medicine which is a great addition to anyone's diet. Potassium is a huge factor in the extreme health benefits found in the avocado. This mineral helps regulate a steady blood pressure. It also fights against diseases.
The oil from avocados is good for our bodies, our skin, and our hair. But often, hair products and lotions contain avocado extract to help with smoothness, wholesomeness, and strength. It prevents hair loss and supports hair growth. It makes hair shiny, full, and healthy when included in products. A difference is almost always seen, and the avocado is the one to thank. That is not all- the oils found in avocados are used to treat wounds and infections
Avocados improve the body's ability to absorb carotenoids found in many vegetables. Therefore, if a sliced avocado is added to your salad, it is easier for your body to intake all of the vitamins and minerals that the other veggies contain. They help improve eye health and reduces the change of eye diseases.
It may look odd at first, but mix an avocado into your salad and you’ll never want to look back! And I mentioned before, guacamole can’t be topped with your favorite tortilla or nacho chips. So give this healthy fruit a try today, just be sure to save some for later!
