Disney Channel is Hosting a 'Wizards of Waverly Place' TV Event!

Just when you thought the books had closed on ‘Wizards of Waverly Place,’ Disney Channel wants us to know that there is still plenty of magic to be had, and we’ll be seeing it much sooner than later!

Today, Disney Channel announced that Selena Gomez and the rest of the ‘Wizards’ cast will be getting back together to film a brand new television event.  Selena will be on Radio Disney TODAY to discuss with DJ Ernie D details about the hour-long special.  With filming beginning very soon, we can expect to see the brand new ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ adventure debuting early in 2013.

So what will become of the Russo family one year after the conclusion of their series?  With a well-deserved trip to Italy, nothing can go wrong... right?  Trying to prove herself, Alex Russo accidentally stumbles upon a dangerous spell that splits her into a Good and Evil Alex.  When a plotting wizard ropes Evil Alex into a plan to take over the world, Good Alex takes it upon herself to put an end to both of their diabolical plans.
