Checkin' in with Jimmy Robbins!

We caught up with Jimmy Robbins to find out all about what to expect from his next album, and how he's adjusted to life in Hollywood!
Fanlala: You are working on a new album...can you tell us what we can expect?
Jimmy Robbins: Well the new stuff has changed a little bit. I'm getting back in touch with the acoustic sound that I started with. That's not to say there won't be drums and all that stuff, there will be, but just the vibe is going to be a bit more singer/songwriter I think.
F: Do you have a favorite song to perform?
JR: Well on the last tour it was a song called "Turn It Up". We ended each set with it and the kids knew it better than the rest so they would all sing along which is a pretty special feeling for me. I'd say now it's probably going to be a new song of mine called "Your Sweet Soul."
F: What is a must-have when you go on tour? What is a must-have while in the recording studio or while writing?
JR: Must have on tour is my laptop. I'm a big computer nerd and need to go online a few times a day to stay alive. Haha. In the studio, I'm actually the opposite. The less distractions the better. As long as there are almonds... haha. I'm all about eating almonds in the studio for some reason.
F: Last time we caught up with you at home, you were fairly new to LA, how have you adjusted?
JR: I'm definitely used to being here now. I can get by pretty well without maps. I have my circle of friends and my church and all that, haha. They say home is where the heart is though and my heart is still back east with my family.
F: Could you tell us some of your favorite places to hang in L.A.?
JR: I like going to Runyon canyon a lot. I'm gone a lot so I can't get a dog right now and there are always a ton of adorable dogs there.
F: What are some things you wish you could bring from home to LA? Vice versa?
JR: Definitely my family! I'd love to have all of my nieces and nephews out here :-).
F: You are always gushing over how much you love your fans, what is the sweetest thing a fan has done for you?
JR: Well, I once had a group of fans who actually made me a novel. It was like a notebook full of different facts about me and about them and things they liked about my songs and pictures they'd drawn. It was pretty amazing.
F: Who inspires you? Are you someone’s biggest fan?
JR: I'm always inspired by people who strive to put others first. I love when I see genuinely kind and selfless folks. Makes me believe in the world a bit more each time I see that. I'd say I might be Tom Petty's biggest fan. I'm definitely my Father's biggest fan.
F: What exciting things have you been doing this summer?
JR: A ton of writing! I've had the pleasure of writing for some artists other than myself and that has been very fun and liberating. I've also written my new album which I needed to do. I had a lot of emotions I needed to get out.
F: Are there any fun summer activities you can recommend for our Fanlalalians?
JR: Anything that involves water! It's super hot already so I know this summer is going to be intense haha. Let's arrange a group field trip to a water park.
We're in, Jimmy!
