Carly Rae Jepsen has gone from a small town girl to a global superstar, all thanks to that li’l ol’ song of hers. You probably have heard it once or twice, it’s called ‘Call Me Maybe’?
As much as we love that track, we are excited to announce that there will be a lot more Carly songs to jam out to soon enough, because Carly’s album has gotten a release date! After months of waiting for our girl to announce news about the album, we’re overwhelmed with all the new info at once! Carly’s new album will be called ‘Kiss’ and is out September 18!
Carly has been using her Twitter all week to post hints about the album! We think the photo of her and her band blowing a kiss gave it away for us...Superstar manager Scooter Braun tweeted that he spent the day going over album artwork and music with Carly, saying “SHE IS READY!!” Woo hoo, that’s what we like to hear!
About the album, Carly said that the “lyric and song ideas that I have been collecting over the years. I can’t tell you how lucky I feel to be able to collaborate with some of my dream producers. It has been the most fulfilling experience. The record is pop. It’s inspired by Robyn, The Cars, Madonna, and believe it or not, James Taylor. I can’t wait to share it with everyone! Kiss.”
Carly really let her talents shine on ‘Kiss’, writing and co-writing all of the songs. The album will come out just in time for Carly to perform the new tracks when she goes on the ‘Believe’ tour with Justin Bieber!
We wonder if there will be any duets on the album? Or a new song that will be even bigger than ‘Call Me Maybe’? All will be revealed September 18 when ‘Kiss’ is officially released! Are you excited to hear Carly’s new album? We can’t wait!
