Box Office Beat: 'Sparkle' and 'ParaNorman'

It’s a double-play this weekend at the box office.  Two awesome movies are out today, and we’ve got the lowdown on both of them!

For those of you who are looking for a musical outing, ‘Sparkle’ has the motown feel that you’re looking for.  Jordin Sparks plays the title character who just wants to let the world hear the music in her heart.  Together with her sisters, they’ll fight against their mom’s wishes to follow their dreams.  We’re so excited to check out ‘Sparkle,’ that we’re giving you a little bonus for joining our ‘Sparkle’ fan club this week.

Of course, if you’re looking for something on the spookier side, ‘ParaNorman’ is the flick for you!  Norman (Kodi Smit-McPhee) is the only one in his town who can see ghosts, and everyone makes fun of him for it.  That is, until he is the only one who can save the community from an undead uprising.  Don’t miss our interview with Tucker Albrizzi, who voices Norman’s friend Neil in ‘ParaNorman!’

Two great movies, and we don’t know which one we’ll be checking out first.  Then again, we could always go relive the amazing ‘The Odd Life of Timothy Green!’
