Box Office Beat: Frankenweenie

You never forget your first pet. He’s your best friend in the whole world, and nothing could ever take away the memories you share with whatever animal you can truly call yours.

This week, ‘Frankenweenie’ lands in theaters, and tells the interesting story of a boy, his first dog, and what happens after the unthinkable.

Young Victor Frankenstein is obsessed with science. In fact, the only thing he seems to care about more is his dog, Sparky. After an unfortunate accident, Victor must say goodbye to his best pal. That is, until, his teacher reveals a way to bring Sparky back to life. With wonderful success, and his friend back to life, Victor is faced with a whole new problem: the townspeople want him to bring their former furry friends back from the dead. Not the best plan.

With the town’s pets no longer resting in peace, it’s up to Victor to find a way to return them to their peaceful state. Now if only there was an easy way to round-up herds of zombie pets...

‘Frankenweenie’ is directed by the legendary filmmaker Tim Burton who has brought us classics like ‘Edward Scissorhands’ and ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas.’ We can’t wait to check out his latest animated adventure. Let us know what you plan on seeing this weekend!
