Bella Thorne has achieved so much in such a short time in her life, and doing so required her to overcome a huge difficulty in her life: dyslexia.
Dyslexia is a learning disability that can hinder a person’s ability to read. With Bella, she found out when she was in first grade. Her mind switched around letters that looked similar, and it made school much more difficult for her. Thankfully, she’s been able to work past her dyslexia and become the strong, wonderful actor that we see on Disney Channel today. Check out the video to hear her story.
Bella has released shared her story in a short entitled “The Time I... (Dyslexia).” Following the release, Bella was excited to announce that her production was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Class Short Format Daytime Program. She said she is “so thankful to Disney for giving me the opportunity to pursue my dreams and to share my struggle with all the young people that dyslexia affects.”
We hope Bella’s video is able to be seen by as many people as possible. An inspiring message like hers would definitely be enough to push those affected to pursue their dreams.
