American Idol Winner Phillip Phillips Speaks!

After several weeks of performing his heart out in the fierce competition, Phillip Phillips was named the season 11 winner of ‘American Idol.’

Now that Phillip is able to exercise more creativity off the ‘Idol’ stage, we’ll be seeing a lot more original work from the artist.  When asked about what kind of sound he would like to create in his career, Phillip said “Kind of like jazz and rock and acoustic stuff, maybe a little different.  I’m really excited to get it out there.  It’s going to be cool.”  He already has some of his own original work ready, and for the show Phillip said in the interview “I wanted to do one of my own songs that I’ve written.  Just in the short amount of time we couldn’t really do it with recording live and everything.”

Of course, Phillip had an awesome connection with all of the other ‘Idols,’ especially Heejun Han.  It goes without saying that Phillip was sad when Heejun had to take his leave.  About their relationship, Phillip said “we just kind of clicked, and he’s a really great guy.  We still keep in touch and he’s got a big future ahead of him.”

We’re so happy for Phillip, and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the table in the coming months.  And we totally cannot wait for the next season of ‘American Idol!’
