2011 Country Music Awards Recap

The Band Perry CMAs

The dust has settled on the 45th Annual Country Music Awards, and fans have left more than pleased!  In case you missed on the stunning performances or any of the awards handed out, we have your recap here.

The show kicked off with Footloose pioneer Kenny Loggins belting out his original version of the song that many of you heard in this year’s remake of the movie.  It was huge!  Towards the end of the show, we also got a touching tribute to country icon Glen Campbell from Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, and Vince Gill.  Campbell was clearly touched when he gave Brad Paisley a thumbs-up for his performance.  Paisley along with Carrie Underwood, hosted the CMAs for evening.  The two made for a cheeky pairing that kept us engaged the entire time.

It was definitely an enchanted evening for The Band Perry.  The group themselves took home two awards for Single of the Year, and New Artist of the Year, while front runner Kimberly Perry also nabbed an award for Song of the Year.  Meanwhile, Taylor Swift took home her second Entertainer of the Year Award.  Other winners included Lady Antebellum, Mac McAnally, and Blake Shelton.

We had a blast watching this year’s CMAs.  Did YOU tune in this year?
