Wizards of Waverly Place on The Disney Channel focuses on the Russo’s, a seemingly average family that hold a huge secret! The Russo kids, Justin (David Henrie), Alex (Selena Gomez), and Max (Jake T. Austin), are all wizards in training, having inherited their special powers from their dad. The kids’ friends and school mates are unaware of the Russo’s secret side, so they all must make sure they act like normal kids in public. Unfortunately, according to wizard law, only one child per family is allowed to keep their powers, so once all the kids reach age 18 they must compete to see who gets to keep their family’s magical abilities!

Fanlala Fun Facts:

The show was originally called "The Amazing Hannigans," then it was changed to "The Amazing O'Malleys," then it was changed to "Wizards of Waverly Place," then to "Disney's Wizards," and finally back to "Wizards of Waverly Place."

The spells featured on the show are created by using the names of the behind the scenes crew. The spell “Murrieta Animata” is named after Executive Producer, Peter Murrieta!

The hardware store in Wizards is named Greenwald's Hardware, after the shows creator Todd Greenwald.
