Bio

High School Musical is a movie that began in 2006 and has been made into two further sequels because of its huge popularity! The musical follows Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) and Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens) after they meet at a New Year’s Eve party and sparks fly. After Gabriella transfers to Troy’s High School, East High, the story follows the two as they discover a passion for singing and performing. Troy must find a way to balance his love for basketball and his new found passion for singing, while Gabriella must balance academics with her love for the performing arts.

Meanwhile, Troy and Gabriella’s super talented voices intimidate the school’s stubborn and selfish Drama Club prez, Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale). In each of the High School Musical movies, Sharpay works her magic to try and ruin Troy and Gabriella before they steal her spotlight in the school play, in the annual country club talent show that she wins every year, and in competing for the Julliard scholarship.

High School Musical DVD sold over 1.2 million copies during the first six days after its release, on May 23, 2006, which makes it the fastest-selling television movie of all time.

HSM3 was the first of the High School Musical movies to be filmed while real school was in session. So the lucky attendees of East High in Salt Lake City, UT got to meet the entire cast!

Ashley Tisdale says the last day of filming was very sad for the entire cast and they could hardly get through the final scene without tearing up!
